my wife and i are going to go for it, so we know the risks and if doesnt work, we go to a pro to fix it.

I'm going to attempt to cut her hair short in layers and make it look volumized. attractive. please give me a crash lesson. I'm a good learner and good in details. If a could be a biochemist i'm sure i can learn to cut her hair.

to cut hair in layers u have to pull each section out to a 90 degree angle . To start part hair in 4 sections from ear to ear and then straight down the middle of the head....clip the 4 sections up. now from the bottom 2 sections part out some hair trim the 1st section at 0 degrees if needed cut if not then part out another section and pull that out at a 90 degree angle from where the hair grows and cut it even with the shortest piece. Keep parting out sections and pulling them out to a 90 degree angel from where the hair grows (all through out the head) and cut each section as u are moving up the head to make even with the shortest piece from each parting (be sure to grab a little bit of the section u just cut to use as ur guide line so u don't cut her hair to short). That will give her layers. Hopefully I explained this good enough for you and u understand it....Little

U can also put her hair up in a high ponytail and cut it....that's the easiest way.

P.S ur better off taking her to a salon if u really don't know what u r doing. But it is a pretty easy cut. That's my favorite cut to give.

...just take her to a salon, you can't cut short layers if you don't know what you're doing. it take practice to learn how to do hair properly, and you can't just learn by following directions. if you slip up, she could end up with something too sort and unflattering

Ok. Cutting hair its not hard once you know how. First of all wash her hair its 10 times easier that way.

You should start with the length first so take sections from the back and cut in a straight line, take the sections with about an inch of hair at a time. Kep taking sections following the first line that you cut, you can see this line through the hair just keep following that line all through the hair until you have pulled all the hair down. Remember you may take off more or less hair each time you cut.

Once you have done that its time to start on the layers. You have said she wants short layers. pick up the hair from around he crown area and cut it vertically and take it as short as she desires. Make sure when you cut it joins in with the length at the botte you then use this first layer you cut as your guidline similar to how you cut off the length. You follow this guide all round the hair just follow the line taking different sections from around the crown moving more towards the left and right as you go around the hair. You can then chip into the hair by cutting intothe hair you just hold the scissors at the bottem of the hair and chip in to it quickly. If your wife wants layersaround the face you would cut them in diagonallyand chip into them aswell .

Some tips to remember is always make sure the hair lays flat and as straight as possible

Dont cut the layers too short or they will stick up, unless this is what your wife wants
