in the philippines, old folks keep on saying that i should cut my daughter's hair really really short (like bald!?!) after her first bday, for a number of reasons like baby hair make the head more sweaty, hair will become thin when she grows up, etc. now i wanna know, is this true? have you cut your daughter's hair really short after her 1st bday or have you let it grew until she's 2 or 3 years old? what could be the basis of these old folks for saying baby's hair should be cut after his/her 1st bday? thanks so much!!!!!

I balded my daughter when she's 1 mo old, since that I was advised by some "old folks" to balded her again, but since my hair is thick and her dad's hair is wavy, we decided to just let it grow and trim whenever necessary.
